RILEY LAMB

Home? Home is at my local cable park at Bli Bli on the sunshine coast in Queensland and anywhere behind my winch.
Travel? I have done a lot of riding over the past 12 months. I recently went to Thailand with the DUP crew and had the opportunity to ride at all the cable parks. Shredding on the Thai Wake Park pool gap was definitely one of the best experiences this year.
Ideal Day? My ideal day consists of an early morning winch in a gnarly location, maybe in the surf or in an urban wasteland. Then for breakfast, a huge stack of pancakes before I head off for a shred at cable until the afternoon. To finish the day, a boat set on a glassy Noosa river.
Style? Everyone has their ‘own’ style. Whether it be on a rail or off the wake, each rider has an individual touch to a trick. I do believe there is an overall style to riding such as grabbing longer, poking further and pressing harder. I think that’s what it should be like. However, no rider is the same as the other so its impossible have the same style. I think this sport is thriving off the individuality of the top riders and it encourages everyone to take the next step in progressing the sport through their own style.
Wakeboards? To me, a wakeboard has to ride smoothly and have flex. I love boosting off the wake and having a smooth landing thanks to that perfect rocker. I’m a big fan of simple and unique graphics and this year’s range has some wicked designs.
Bindings? Again, I like simple and effective and it’s the same for bindings. Enough support for my ankles, but in a unique and versatile style.
DUP | Double Up? Double Up is an amazing company and I’m always getting stoked over what they do next. The way they approach the sport of wakeboarding is wicked and they have pushed the free riding side of the industry heaps. To be a part of their free riding team is a great honour and that’s why I get stoked out on the brand.
Inspiration? I just love that first moment when you jump off the dock or carve into the wake. That initial feeling of the water under my board, particularly at a new cable park gets me motivated.
Future? Over the next 12 months I see my riding and improving heaps. The possibility of having a break from UNI will really allow me to focus on my riding and hopefully travel a lot more.
Advice? Ride for whatever reason you love riding. If you love riding for fun then keep it fun, and if you love being with your mates then hang out with them. Don’t try and be a rider that you’re not.
Last words? Keep it Creamy.
