Home? Club Taco (Thailand) Lago De Oro (My original first love in the Philippines) Pradera Wake Park (My current home in the Philippines), but practically any park with locals who make you feel at home is really home. Homies is where the heart is, believe that!!!
Travel? All over Asia, like Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan. The most memorable so far would definitely be Australia, the whole west coast side is super dope. Seeing Mackay to Melbourne and the whole spectrum of lifestyles that are there was pretty good to see, and how could you not love the local Bottlo’s.
Ideal day? Have good breakfast with the familia, check some online stuff, go ride, get other people to enjoy wakeboarding, share a beer at beer-o’clock, catch a local indie gig and repeat.
Style? If you do something enough that it becomes second nature and you are able to put your own personality into a certain move, that’s style. People have different styles, and it cant be helped that some folks would have a very strong opinion regarding style, but in the end of the day if it feels good it will probably look good as well.
Wakeboards? I look for something that can withstand constant abuse in the cable. That’s why i ride DUP Blanc or Del Taco. I hate having to change boards constantly because they cant take the heat in the kitchen. There’s nothing worse than buying a product that will be fun for just a few months before it turns into mush, i like the bang for my buck concept, so its gotta be strong and reliable. Flex needs to be balanced as well, it cant be too soft otherwise that nose press you think you are killing, is in fact just you lifting your back leg, and to be honest it looks awful, like a dog pissing type of style. Too much flex also affects how well the board tracks on the water, and its not that fun. Graphics are cool as well, but its probably my last consideration, if you are serious about riding then go for performance all the time which is what DUP really prioritizes, but shiiiiiiiiiii they got a pretty good eye for graphics as well.
Bindings? What features are you looking for? How do they need to function? COMFORT SUPPORT COMFORT SUPPORT COMFORT SUPPORT AND EASY TO MAINTAIN. Hands down DUP bindings are the best, they are the comfiest, most supportive boots out there. also love how simple our mounting system is with no fancy screws or claws to clamp your bindings to the boards. if you loose a screw you can simply replace it quite easily and not worry about having to go to a shop to get a replacement. Its simplicity keeps you on the water longer and stronger. HOMEBOYS WORD best boots for the price #HOMIESAPPROVED
DUP | Double Up Wakeboards? DUP is a long tradition of upholding the proper standards of what wakeboarding should be. Before the web videos, before the comps, and before the endorsements, it was just a bunch of friends having fun in the water pushing each other to progress. That is the original intention of wakeboarding. Its a lifestyle rooted in freeriding and having fun.
Another thing i like about DUP is it doesn’t go out there and spend a ton of cash for people to notice us, we dont crave or chase for that attention, all we are trying to do is spreading the love of wakeboarding one person at a time and trying to have fun while we are at it. We have the coolest set of heads in the team and most passionate and dedicated captains steering the organization. Super pumped to be part of this crew and excited for what the future holds. Foam stick slappies all around!!!
Inspiration? For those who don’t know i have a family that i support and i have been playing in a band just as long as i have been wakeboarding, I get a lot of motivation from these institutions, and the influence i get from them help me stay fresh on the water. Its so easy to get burned out, and i’ve seen so many riders go through this and just give up in the end. I like to think i have maintained a good balance in my life, by juggling these three major aspects of my life.
But over the last couple of years i have really been motivated to ride simply to help and pump up younger riders in the Philippines and all over the Asian region to break through and realize that if this brown bloke from Philippines can do it, so can they.
Future? I want to stay as healthy as possible, i want to keep on progressing and maintaining. Hmmmmmmmm i try not to plan to much as far as my riding goes. Definitely want to throw more events in the Philippines and Asia, and try to elevate its profile overall, and create a healthy industry for all the up and coming riders.
